Adam Douglas, MD completed his family medicine residency with Rutgers in New Jersey in 2019 when he won resident of the year. Since then he has held many different roles as a physician.

He began working in urgent care centers throughout NJ, as well as working primary care for 9/11 survivors through a government grant. At the start of 2020 he moved to Arizona where he acted as the medical director for a new healthcare technology startup company.

Dr. Douglas emphasizes down to earth empathy and strict continuity as cornerstones in the care he provides. In his spare time he enjoys going to the beach with his wife Alyssa, toddler Lorenzo, and baby girl Paloma, scuba diving, watching and playing sports (particularly football, golf, and soccer), weight lifting, nutrition, music, and travel.

If you have diabetes or prediabetes, your doctor will likely recommend that you see a dietitian to help you develop a healthy-eating plan. The plan helps you control your blood sugar (glucose), manage your weight and control heart disease risk factors, such as high blood pressure and high blood fats.

When you eat extra calories and fat, your body creates an undesirable rise in blood glucose. If blood glucose isn’t kept in check, it can lead to serious problems, such as a high blood glucose level (hyperglycemia) that, if persistent, may lead to long-term complications, such as nerve, kidney and heart damage.
